Congratulations to Makayla P., our Caregiver of the Month for November!
Makayla was chosen for this honor because of her compassionate dedication to her clients. She was chosen as Caregiver of the Month because she exhibits all of the HomeChoice values. but especially because she is solutions oriented, for example, Makayla created a puzzle game that is more conducive to her client and their condition so they are still able to participate. The positive impact she makes with her clients is highly appreciated by both her client and their spouse as well as all of us at HomeChoice.
Makayla has been with HomeChoice Home Care Solutions for over four years. She has been in the CNA for 5 years. She studied biomedical engineering at NC State. Makayla initially entered caregiving to gain hands-on-experience in the medical field and discover what improvements could be made in geriatric medicine. She really fell in love with caregiving when she realized what a privilege it is to have people trust you at their most vulnerable moments.

Makayla loves working for HomeChoice Home Care Solutions because she really loves that everyone at HomeChoice really cares about the well-being of the clients on a physical, mental, and emotional level. She said, “I have always felt appreciated and supported by the management team. It feels like a team environment to provide the best care possible, even though we do not work together directly.”
When she is with her clients, Makayla enjoys going on outdoor walks, watering plants together, and solving puzzles!
She wants to earn her master’s degree and hopes to use her education to continue assisting the geriatric population. In her spare time Makayla enjoys reading, walking outside, and traveling to new places!
